Adding Sparkle to your Tiles

Adding Sparkle to your Tiles

Sparkle is considered to be a tangle enhancer. It is an enhancement that produces a highlight, created by making a break in your stroke, or leaving a white space in an otherwise black image. It is inspired by an engraving technique.

To create a sparkle, lift your pen off the paper consistently to leave a series of gaps which line up with each other.

Tangles that are best to add a sparkle to include those with lines that are drawn closely together: printemps, static.

Adding sparkles is also a good way to regain focus on a tangle you know very well.

1. Triangles – one with printemps as normal - One with printemps added sparkle

2. Zentangle tile – betweed, cadent, printemps

3. Black triangle – static with sparkle
