To facilitate the creation of artwork in preparation for the Ceremony of Appreciation, an art and anatomy workshop was held on January 23rd and led by Family Practice Physician and Artist Dr. Grace Haynes. Students utilized images, anatomical models, and their own bodies to create their art. They pondered reflective questions while contemplating the opportunity to work with willed body donors:
Who were you before you started Clinical Anatomy and who are you now?Â
How do you see your body whole and deconstructed? How did that feel working with the willed body donor?
What were you feeling when you met your donor?
How did working with the donor help you to appreciate your own body?
What beauty in/of the body did you discover through this process that you didn’t know it had?
What would you say to the family of the donor, or to the donor him/herself, for having the opportunity to learn from the donor?
