May's Music and Medicine performance consisted of first year medical students, Asif Becher and Naushaba Khan, singing and playing catchy tunes for a group of participants Zooming in from the SunTree Adult Day Center or their homes. Asif started us out by singing the song Easy Silence by the Dixie Chicks while playing her electric guitar. She then followed that up with a second song using her acoustic guitar. Naushaba Khan played her guitar and sang With or Without You by U2, Give me Love by Ed Sheerhan (a song she just learned to play that morning!), and Gale Song by the Lumineer's. When asked what the SunTree participants liked about music, Clarence said "someone had to think really hard about it", referring to the lyrics. Barbara was particularly grateful that the students were giving of their time to do this for them. There will be no performance in June as the students focus on personalized learning, but they will be back in July!
