Adding texture and detailing can be done with needle and thread. You can add stitching by hand or machine.
By stitching, you can securely attach metal embellishments without glue or eyelets. You can add transparencies, buttons, beads, charms, metal embellishments and hinges that would be difficult to attach with glue alone.
You can stitch with embroidery floss, ribbon, thread, yarn, fibers, and waxed colored floss.
Prior to stitching, you may want to pierce the holes you are going to draw your thread through with a piercing tool. This allows for proper measurement, placement, and easier sewing. Keep in mind, your stitches don’t have to be perfect!
