The Humanae Project

Photographer Angelica Dass is compiling a chromatic inventory of human skin tone. The ongoing project is composed of almost 4,000 portraits of different people from around the world. Each background is dyed to match the subject’s complexion by taking a sample from the face and the matching alphanumeric Pantone code is printed at the bottom. Looking at them makes clear how staggering the variety in skin tone really is.
