Introduction
Use the puzzle page from a newspaper or download a crossword from the internet. Have
fun playing with crossword puzzle patterns. The geometry lends itself to tangling, doodling
or journaling in small spaces. Create a grid, or use the whole puzzle and fill in some of the
blanks with your favorite quote. Cut it up and use pieces of it. Look at the puzzle clues and
circle the words that resonate with you.

By now, you’ve started your busy box for art journaling supplies (see session 4). This week’s prompt is to grab some junk mail, and with some of the things you’ve collected in your busy box, use these pieces to create something new.
