Handprints

Introduction

The inspiration for today’s session comes from hands!   Put your hand or your hands somewhere in your artwork.

  • Trace your hand on your page and create a 3-dimensional effect with markers. (see below)

  • Trace your hand on decorative paper and cut it out.

  • Trace your hand, outline with watercolor pencil, wet it and using a straw, blow it out.

  • Paint your hand and stamp it onto a page.

  • Cut words out of newspaper that represent you and glue to inside of hand.

What does your hand represent?

  • Hand and heart

  • Hand reaching out in service to others.

  • Being left-handed or right-handed.

What do you do with your hand?

  • Give to others

  • Create art

Steps

Homework

Pick one day to create a journal page based on everything you did that day.  It can be a special day, a typical weekend day or just an ordinary day in your life.  Write it, draw it, embellish it!

You could:

  • List everything you did from sun up to sun down.

  • Create a time log and correlate each activity with the time you did it

  • Divide the day into morning, noon, and night and correlate the activities you did to each timeframe.

  • Highlight some of the exciting things you did that day and illustrate them.
