“A painter tries to convey to us a picture of the world as he sees it; an ophthalmologist tries to enable us to see the world as it really is. The logotherapist's role consists of widening and broadening the visual field of the patient so that the whole spectrum of potential meaning becomes conscious and visible to him.” Viktor E. Frankl
In this session, we spent some time in the photography gallery. Participants were challenged to create and retain an image in their minds based on quick observations. They were then challenged to describe how to make sense of what is seen during longer observation periods and how one decides when we have enough information to move on. What is the value of data collection, what do we do with the data, and are there inherent dangers in deciding when enough is enough? The final thought-provoking question: “Whose value takes precedence – the patient’s or the physicians?
