Introduction
What could be more relaxing than working on an art project and enjoying a hot cup of tea? In
this session, we explore the use of tea bags in art collage in a variety of ways.
Directions
What can you do with a tea bag? First, prepare a tea bag to use in your journal. Steep the tea
bag in hot water for 2-3 minutes. Remove the tea bag and let dry overnight. Tear or cut a small
hole in the tea bag to empty out the dried tealeaves. Then you can:
Paint it with watercolor
Use the tea bags as memory keepers (insert a photo or a note and seal wit glue)
Stamp on tea bags
Make marks on tea bags with black or white ink
Put several dried tea bags on a page and use a vellum
Create a page around a teacup
With wet tea bags:
Steep a concentrated tea and use the tea as water color on paper (tea staining)
Put wet tea bags randomly onto your pages and let the page get soaked with tea. Move
the pages in various directions to make the tea stain drip and create patchy effects.
Tea Quotes:
Love takes time to brew.
Savor the moment.
Drink in the joy.
A cup of tea makes everything better.
Life is like a cup of tea, to be filled to the brim and enjoyed with friends.
